             State Festival

AHS has qualified 16 events to compete at the State Speech and Drama Championship in Topeka on May 3.  Additionally, there will be 2 events competing at Kansas Wesleyan in Salina at the State Speech and Drama Festival.


Championship students are: Jessica Baker, Keegan Cole, Matt Katzenmeier, David Struss, David Kohman, Kaitlin Mounts, Cory Elliott, Nickie Fleming, Kyle Zimmerman, Lauryn Mounts, A.J. Simpson, Ryan Whitehair, Kolby Kelly, Aly Dunlap. (Several of these students will compete in 2 events.)


Festival students are: Amber Brown, Annie Christner, Haylee Steffen


With 16 events competing at the State Championship, Abilene takes a full team and has a chance to earn enough points in competition to compete not only on an individual event basis, but also as a team.
