It was so interesting listening to all the activities youŐre doing at 2nd & 3rd grade to promote comprehension. Neat SRA kits! Wow! Jodi put a lot of effort typing up a running record for each Title book. Loved JadenŐs report! This really added to your presentation

*The graphic organizers are good. The visuals meet the standards. ItŐs interesting that 2nd graders are introduced to connect/research procedures and summarizing. The Poems for Home notebook is a great idea. It appears that wonderful resources are available for the students!

*Language used is consistent with state assessments. Read Kansas Cards integrate text types. Prefix/suffix cards (like Marci Code tiles) address fluency. SRA matched standards. This presentation was detailed and well organized. The presenters linked to the standards and how they prepared students for the state assessment. Great job!
*Great graphic organizers! I liked the extension activities added to the animal report. ItŐs great that the students have a chance to see Ňtheir animalÓ at the zoo. The running records are a great teaching tool complete with immediate feedback and intervention! Love the bag project. It is evident that Mckinley has great techniques/strategies for meeting Communication standards!! There are many projects and lessons that meet all learning styles. Great Job!!
