K-1 Science:

Commendations:

*Cute ideas – ocean in a bottle. Like the kazoo idea and candle race. Great science at the kindergarten level! I like the quirkle idea. Hope you can get it. Way to go, Science!

*Hands-on Learning. Great!

*Integrating letters with science experiments and integrating reading with science experiments so it doesn’t get pushed to the side. Hope to adopt Quirkles curriculum.

*Thanks for setting up all the different experiments in the back of the classroom. Good job!

*I like all the quick/fun activities. It looks like the kids are having fun.

*Apples, Bubble, and Crystals. Good excitement.

*good to have students at a young age to make predictions and evaluations! Fun activities!

*Hearing that K-1 is bringing science and Social Studies back into the classroom! Bringing in Quirkles. Experimenting with the Science Steps – hypothesis/observations/experiments/results.

Suggestions:

*Maybe next time open up the Powerpoint to fill screen so I could see it. I am getting too old for all the small print. Sorry.

*Make the slide go full screen.

*Maybe a little more hands on.

*It would be nice not to hear “we just don’t have time to teach science” but we are trying.
