A Parent is a Child’s FIRST Teacher!

How well children develop and learn during the crucial early years of life, particularly between birth to three years, can have an enormous impact on their later development and success in school.

As children's first and most influential teachers, parents deserve and can benefit from practical information and support during the first three years of a child's life. The main goal of the Parents As Teacher (PAT) program is to help parents become more confident in their parenting abilities.

PAT is designed to:

  1. *Maximize children's overall development during the first three years of life

* Provide a foundation for school success;

* Minimize developmental problems which might interfere with learning

* Assure that all children are ready and able to learn successfully when they enter kindergarten.

Research and history demonstrate the importance of the home and school working together. PAT assures that children have the best possible start in life.
